Aftermarket Buyer/Planner

POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
The Aftermarket Buyer/Planner is responsible for developing and implementing planning strategies for Aftermarket orders, including spares and repairs.
Principal Activities
- Release repair shop orders with required drawings and specifications.
- Process orders related to outside manufacturing.
- Ensure product availability to the production lines by tracking and expediting shop orders.
- Issuer/maintain shop orders as required.
- Issuing material requisitions for purchasing.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle count activities.
- Actively participate and report in daily Gemba and other production control meetings.
- Participate in the implementation and utilization of lean principles and drive continuous improvement in the workplace.
- Establish priorities and set direction for Kitter and Stock keeper to facilitate and optimize material flow to operations.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to help troubleshoot and resolve material flow to operations.
- Collaborate with Customer Service to develop and manage a process for negotiating supply commitments to customer demands that ensure customer satisfaction.
- Process sales demand into purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Manage procurement activities for a wide variety of materials, processes, and services.
- Participate in Supplier Improvement Initiatives.
- Support Company policy, procedures, and safety policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Understanding work in progress to schedule the flow of supply to support production.
- Understanding of constraint based management in a Manufactured or Engineered to Order environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Solid understanding of ERP systems.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) applications.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills (internal / external).
- Problem solver that works collaboratively within the organization, efficiently and effectively resolves issues related to supply chain flow and meeting demand requirements.
- Ability to identify and prioritize multiple issues into clear and simple action plans.
- Positive thinker / self-starter and Team Player.
- Experience in a high mix/low volume environment is a plus.
- Must be a US citizen to meet US Defense requirements.
Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in supply chain, Business or Accounting; Bachelor Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Planning and materials management in a manufacturing environment.
- CPIM (APICS) or CSCP (APICS), CPSM (ISM), CPM (ISM), certification(s) preferred.
